TASTE & POWER

Music, Politics, and Dismemberment.

Does anyone think John McCain should be president? Does anyone think both John McCain and Barack Obama are the same? Does anyone think Barack Obama will give you a moist towelette with a smile at his White House BBQs? I know we shy away from politics on this site, or at least i’ve been called less than savory epithets for trying to talk about it, but gosh darnit, i think it’s interesting. Anyway, i thought if anyone was inline with the any of the aforementioned modes of thought we could debate or discuss here on Taste & Power. Yes, there are other sites for that, but i think most of the folks on those sites are either still in college and all “radical”, or never went. I think my friends thirsting for tasty power snacks are intelligent and funny.

Also, can we start uploading links to music we’re finding out there? I found some good ones for music i like but i’d like to here what you like.

I don’t have much to say about dismemberment, except that dismember does not rhyme with October, but October is sandwhiched right between September and November, December. Kind of an uneven sando, i guess. August is a pretty gay name for a month. AUGUST: the hater of sandos.

which was AMAZING so I ate it! So, here it goes:

The bread was a lightly toasted rosemary rye with a crunch so satisfying only the thrill of breaking bubble wrap can compare.

Underneath that layer was a thick smearing of a goat’s cheese and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Mustard, together creating a impenetrable forcefield of deliciousness that only my teeth, tongue and other tools of mastication could bust.

Next is the organic juicy tomato. Organic is long for orgy.

Applewood smoked bacon so damn fine Rabbi Schlomo called it “meshugenah!”

Sprouts.

Ovenroasted turkey roasted in an oven and tasting good. Thick layers of it. THAT is important.

And then, of course, sun dried tomato hummus. This creates a thick gooey sloppiness that slides all the ingredients around making it nigh impossible to actually eat. But with a ferocious appetite, a lot of napkins, and some balls, one can do it.

Favre Pussies Out & We’ve ALL Got Problems

Brett Favre, one of football’s “all-time best QBs” announced his retirement yesterday. Which in my opinion is for pussies. I mean, I don’t have a job, so I’m not necessarily one to lecture about work ethics, but dude’s still got a few good seasons left in him for sure. Plus, retirement scares the shit out of me. I mean, whats left? A few years of banality and boredom while your body whithers away to nothingness and then you die. GREAT. Sign me up. Maybe we the NFL should set up a seniors league. That would actually be hilarious. Can you imagine the number of bones broken during one game of senior football? And who doesn’t LOVE watching old people suffer?

In other news, I read part of an article by Heidi Przybyla today about how “Obama has an ‘Archie Bunker’ problem.” Well, guess what, I got beef with that guy too. He was a jerk. And as far as Obama goes, at least I know how to pronounce his name without having to consult any European pronunciation guide. Przybyla. I have no idea how one would pronounce that. Perhaps the author in question should spend a little more time thinking about THAT: how her name effects other people, and a little LESS time worrying about Obama’s problems.
